The JCS Neighbourhood Centre, located at Mortdale Community Centre, 2b – 2c Boundary Road, Mortdale offers a variety of services including Information and Referral, Adult Leisure Learning (off-site as per below), English Conversation Classes,  Chair Yoga, Stepping On and a Knit In Social Group and various other programs.

INFORMATION AND REFERRAL
Our friendly staff are available to answer any questions you may have during the hours of 9.00am – 4.30pm, Monday to Friday. Please call for a chat or drop in to see our centre.

ADULT LEISURE LEARNING CLASSES
Adult Leisure Learning Classes are held at 2 locations over 2 days during school terms:

  • Wednesday at Uniting Church Hall, Morts Road, Mortdale
  • Thursday at Oatley RSL Club, Letitia Street, Oatley

CHAIR YOGA CLASSES
From February 2017, our popular Chair Yoga Classes  will run on Tuesdays 11.15 to 12.15 and Thursdays 1.30 to 2.30 at our centre.  Cost is $10 and no registration is needed.

ENGLISH CLASSES
English Classes for Cantonese and Mandarin Speakers are held at our centre, on Wednesdays and Fridays, from 9.30 – 11.30.

KNIT IN SOCIAL GROUP
The Knit In Social Group meet every 1st  Wednesday of each month at our  Centre located at 2b – 2c Boundary, Mortdale between 2.00pm-4.00pm. Everybody is welcome to come along with their knitting for a friendly chat and cuppa. This is a great opportunity to meet people and you are more than welcome to bring a friend along as well.

JCS supports various charities with knitted items and we can provide complimentary wool for those who wish to donate their knitting to those in need in the community.  We also gratefully accept donations of wool.

STEPPING ON BALANCE CLASSES
We run Stepping On Balance Classes at Mortdale Community Centre on Mondays.  Please contact us to get the current dates and the Doctor’s Form which must be submitted before you can attend the class.

 JP SERVICES

We have a Justice of the Peace on-site.  Please call for an appointment as JP is not always available.
